Welcome to Un Abri Pour Elle.
A platform for the safety of women threatened or victims of violence through solidarity accommodation. Created by feminist activist and social entrepreneur Marie-Claire Kakpotia, Un abri pour Elle is developed by Les Orchidées Rouges.
Les orchidees rouges is an international ngo based in france and ivory coast. we have consultative status with the un economic and social council.
We campaign in France and around the world for the eradication of female genital mutilation, early marriage, forced marriage and all gender-based and sexual violence. We have 3 main lines of action, namely:
- information and awareness
- prevention and protection
- holistic support for women and girls who are victims of violence.
Thanks to a unique and innovative care protocol, we support survivors of gender-based and sexual violence free of charge in their psychological and physical reconstruction, the reappropriation of their body and their sexuality, and the development of their power to act, through the strengthening of self-esteem, self-confidence and socio-professional integration.
Each course is personalized and co-constructed with each beneficiary. Global support thanks to a multidisciplinary team of more than 20 professionals and an expanded network of partners.
In the context of socio-professional integration, the problem of housing often arises, without solutions being found by the reception structures for women, because of the cruel lack of accommodation in France. Moreover, many women do not dare to leave a violent partner for fear of finding themselves homeless.
These situations of violence in which they find themselves can lead to feminicides.
Hence the creation of this platform, which aims to reduce or even eradicate violence against women in France as well as the number of feminicides in our country.
With Un Abri pour Elle, we want solidarity accommodation to become a tool in the fight against intra-family violence and femicide, by providing shelter for women who are threatened or victims of violence.
